NJ Ecotype (grown from seed)

  • Herbaceous perennial; 1-3ft tall

  • Unlike common evening primrose, its yellow flowers remain open during the day; blooms late spring through summer

  • Important food source for evening pollinators such as moths, and, as a result, beneficial to native bat populations

  • Host plant to the Primrose Moth

  • Hummingbirds attracted to the nectar; goldfinches & mourning doves feed on the seeds

  • Spreads non-aggressively via seed
